Thank you for your answer. Are you a member of MAKRI?

For my first question, I am referring to the recent Korean news reporting the ceremony to bury 500 some fallen soldiers and also mentioning 130K bodies remained to be excavated.

Yes. I am familiar with Korean War Educator. However, I only remember it mentioned the casualties of KATUSA. Could you point me to the right page for the ROK figures?

The last part of your answer really puzzle me. If KIA is 137899, and 20 K had been rested in the national cemetery. Why there is still over 130K left? I am not trying to pick on you but just really curious. I have been to the War Memorial in Seoul. I believe the number shown on the wall was 152,279 KIA, including 8,282 polices.

By the way, does this KIA number here (and on the wall of the memorial) including soldiers missing or interned in North Korea? Or it strictly includes soldiers died in combat (in the field or died of wound in the hospital)?

Sorry for asking so may questions. I have been reading a lot but no chance to ask for the opinions from any authoritative source. Even the three volume "The Korean War" published by your Korea Institute of Military History did not have clear figures.

Anyhow, thanks again for answering my questions. I wish to hear more from you. I will fly out to Seoul tomorrow. Bye.
